i have a huge weakness for ensemble rpg casts and i feel really spoiled by this one, lots of little glimpses into different characters with different relationships to recent history... a lot of the joy of rpg storytelling comes through here in a way that many full-length games would be jealous of. selfishly it makes me want to play the 40-hour version of the game and really sink into the world. the character writing and story structure chops on display here give me a lot of confidence that you could make it work hehehehe....... of course, i'll be excited to see more from you of any size and shape
i dug the combat design for all the characters too, they're creative interpretations of familiar archetypes and they all have a lot to chew on. aesthetically i like the commitment to "overloaded" skills that serve multiple functions, though i think the short chapter length and gentle difficulty meant that some of the nuances didn't get a chance to come through. the battles that gave me the deepest opportunities to engage with the skill design, namely the last two chapter bosses, were major highlights
the first thing i did when i saw this was show my gf
thank you for waking the witch, and for the kind words. especially, for the words of confidence in my abilities. i'd really like to work my way up to delivering full-length rpgs!
All the characters seemed 3D, real, interesting. I loved the world-building and the story. I also really enjoyed the battles and figuring out how different characters’ synergies worked.
If you do ever decide to expand this game, I will definitely be back to play it. :D
All of the battles were quite fun and well-designed encounters.
The last battle took me a few tries, but was so satisfying once if figured it out.
I found myself quite hooked to the story too. Though some of the beats were familiar, the writing was great and I would like to see where it goes if you ever considered expanding on it.
Good stuff!! Interesting worldbuilding and I love your take on the RTP Ace heroes, a lot of mechanical depth to the kits and battles, it’s always fun when you move to a new party and figure out how they fight! Very much enjoyed tho that last battle took me a few tries :D
I had worried that the RTP heroes would be constraining, but it was really like digging up old toy figures and catching up with them. Supremely enjoyable process.

Thanks for the great experience.
Also not sure if the link in the above game page is supposed to link to the game jam, but it links to png of isabelle from your RMN locker.
Oop, thank you! Maybe Isabelle was more important, though...
Thank you for waking the witch!
she’s the most important
I'd never say never, but expanding... Maybe when I trust myself more to stay on-task. Look forward to other practice games like this one.
Thank you for playing!
That’s just as good.
Wooooow that was awesome! By the time I got to the end I had forgotten it was only gonna be four scenarios lol.
I'm flattered you were so engrossed. Thank you for waking the witch!
